Make up simulator, how to choose the perfect make up without applying and removing the make up on your face

 As you all know, we all have to try new colours and shades of make up on our face first to buy the right make up.

It can be a disaster because you have to remove and apply it again. And with some products it isn’t very hygienic because you don’t know if the person before you tried the sample lipstick on their lips instead of on their hands. But who knows the person before you did wash her hands. (I’m sorry sometimes I care too much about hygiene)

But I discovered the solution! There is a new technology, well actually it has been already developed three years ago in japan, but that doesn’t mean that it is still science fiction. Because it is now in the Netherlands! On a some kind of promotion tour.

The make up Simulator!

As you may know I live in The Hague, and this week I happened to be walking to my favourite beauty store in The Hague off course.

There was a Shiseido stand, and I just passed by. I did remember to receive an email about their 140 years of anniversary. But I wasn’t interested too much because although I am an Asian I have never tried the makeup of shiseido before..(bad bad!I know)

But then a representative of shiseido (especially from Japan, promoting this) made me curious about their special make up mirror. I could try out and select the newest make up in just a wink!

So I took place before a special machine. It is called a make-up simulator, only programmed with only the newest Shiseido make up.

It has a built in camera, so you have to sit in front of it with your face within the square. When the picture of your face is taken, you see your face is rastered and being analysed in a few seconds.

First you can choose an eye shadow palette: the new Shiseido palettes consist of three colours. So it is easy to vary and for example to create smokey eyes.

Then you can choose blush color. Also you can choose lipcolour.

What is so perfect about this machine?

They can handle every type of eyes and skin. I have Asian eyes so eye shadow is easily not to be seen. But the simulator could also give me a perfect application especially adjusted for the Asian eyes. Also creating the arch we Asians don’t have but western eyes does. So that was so amazing for me to see. Also the blush and lips is added perfectly and naturally.  And it is very easily to compare within a second which color suits you best. Instead of trying on a color rubbing it off forgetting how it looked like you can now easily see which lipcolour blush or eye shadow you need. So perfect.

The only thing is: it is from shiseido only.

And in addition to this make up miracle, the representative can apply this make up of your choice for you in real. But because I have a very dry skin she also applied Shiseido skincare especially for my type of skin first.

And I have to say, I don’t know why I never tried their skincare before. My skin felt perfect moisturized and soft all day. At night I still could smell the lightly scented cream.

What I want to highlight about trying out make up of shiseido:

The lipgloss! It is applied on very smoothly, fading away fine lines on your lips. And it lasts all day long! It looks like a smoothing lipgloss, but it feels like a lip balm! I absolutely adore this lip gloss!  It is called Lacquer rouge lipgloss.

It was created by Shiseido to look like a lipgloss but being experienced as a lipstick ;) 

Absolutely my favourite lipgloss right now.

The one I am wearing is D203 color, very natural and suits with a lot of occassions

The only thing that the simulator cannot do is to let you know how the make up feels

But who knows? Maybe the smart Japanese will create a technology for this also ;)
